As citizens we need to be informed and united
to take actions
Pro-activism is not about complaining about the things we don't like rather to proposing solutions and taking action in order to create a better future for all.

We believe that science must be for everyone and not only for a small academic group, in this way we fusion science and art in order to communicate with purpose, inviting citizens to be part of collaborative solutions.
Those are some of the most important actions we made:
I) Mi tiendita en línea con la conservación
Mi tiendita is an innovative solution that breaks technological barriers and shifts from traditional market logic to benefit local communities and indigenous peoples involved in nature conservation. Through accessible technology, it promotes sustainable production and economic empowerment.
The platform is built on these pillars:
- Biodiversity-Friendly Marketplace: A free, user-friendly platform where small producers can create websites, market their brands, and make direct sales to niche markets, emphasizing quality over quantity.
- Innovation and Knowledge Hub: Provides skill-building in technology, product design, marketing, and sales, along with continuous training tailored to community needs.
- Traceability for Conservation: Blockchain ensures 100% traceability, allowing consumers to know their purchases support communities committed to conservation.
- Conscious Consumption Model: Consumers can access unique, high-quality products that support biodiversity and engage in conservation efforts.
- Connection with Protected Natural Areas: Real-time data helps directors of protected areas make informed decisions on conservation by integrating platforms like iNaturalist.
II) SoyXochimilco citizen movement
In 2016 the Xochimilco Lake in Mexico City was at serious risk of disappearing, so we created #SoyXochimilco, a campaign to rescue it. Our strategy was defined in 4 steps:
- Communicate the problem: we created "Reflexión", a documentary to raise awareness about the state of the lake and its importance for the quality of life of more than 10 million people.
- Co-create a solution: we gathered local farmers, NGO, universities and specialists in order to co-create a solution proposal and invited citizenship to support it, gathering almost half million people signatures in www.change.org/SoyXochimilco
- Connect citizens: we present the documentary film in more than 80 cinemas, generating discussion, proposals and creating networks connecting local producers with consumers.
- Promote the real Xochimilco: we began to promote the importance of its "Chinampas" as the most sustainable ancient agro-ecological and production system known and its relationship with biodiversity.
More than 20 celebrities supported the campaign, generating more than 200 million interactions and almost half a million signatures. "Reflexión" was awarded in 17 international film festivals. And the #SoyXochimilco campaign became one of the most important citizen science campaigns in the world.

Talking about climate change sometimes is overwhelming, since the problem is huge and citizens usually believe that governments have 100% of the responsibility, but they don't understand the relation of their actions with the problem and moreover, the importance of their actions as part of the solution.
Heroes is a campaign that presents earth champions that are making extraordinary efforts in order to preserve nature and culture. Heroes also invites citizens to become nature heroes through shifting their consumption actions, where 12 actions are proposed for 12 months. Heroes is about ordinary people doing extraordinary things that inspire others to also become the change.
Heroes is an initiative with the collaboration of The Climate Reality Project and United Nations for Environment that has gathered more than 2,000 volunteers.
IV) Bees for Climate
In the past years biodiversity loss has accelerated, since industry actions are affecting biodiversity in a negative way, but also Climate Change is affecting the conditions of thousands of species. Bees are one of the most important species for mankind's well being that are rapidly disappearing.
Bees for climate is a citizen invitation in order to propose and demand 12 urgent climate actions to be taken by the Mexican Government, where bees are the driver to help understanding the fragility of ecosystems but also how we can help in order to revert the damage already done.
Bees for climate is an initiative with the collaboration of The Climate Reality Project and United Nations for Environment that has already gathered 150K citizen signatures in www.change.org/AbejasPorElClima
V) UNIDOS
Unidos was born with the dream of integrating Latin America by our natural and cultural richness. Unidos is a community that integrates the efforts of local and indigenous communities that are protecting nature with focus on National Parks of Latin America.

VI) Regenera MX
“If nature heals, then we heal”
Mexico is one of the most biodiverse countries in the world; however, in the last 40 years 50% of the rainforest has been lost and more than 80% of the coastline suffers from overfishing and diminishing coral reefs and mangroves, and more than 65% of its land is classified as degraded.
At the same time, Mexico has contributed to the modern world magnificent gifts such as corn, tomatoes, vanilla, beans, cacao, or squash; products that needed 9 thousand years of agricultural innovation to be domesticated. Today this wealth is disappearing as synthetic foods have replaced them and traditional agriculture has been abandoned, putting food security at risk.
The effects on the health of Mexicans are very evident, Mexico is the country with the highest rates of obesity and diabetes worldwide. ccess to healthy food has become a privilege, and it should not be so, so it is essential to ensure access to healthy and natural food for all.
With the advent of COVID-19, health problems became more than evident, with Mexico being the country with the highest mortality rate. So now it is time to act and make a big change, but we need to understand that if we want to heal we need to heal nature first, this is how RegeneraMX is born, a movement with the mission to inspire people and promote actions to heal Mexico.
